Reunion 2014
Cruising Yacht Club Rockingham

Thursday Night "Meet & Greet"
A small group of around 55 Vindi Boys gathered tonight for the 14th Down Under Reunion. The venue was the delightful Cruising Yacht Club in Rockingham. The view from the windows was over the water, only slightly marred by the large crane working on a new jetty.
Name badges were handed out and old friends greeted each other with enthusiasm. The bar opened and "Chalky" White, President of the WA branch welcomed all those present to the venue and also to lovely Western Australia.
The meal was a choice of Fish & Chips or Curry and Rice. All seemed to enjoy their meal and the talking and laughing continued. By just after 10pm those who had arrived on the bus from Woodman Point Caravan Park made their way downstairs to the waiting bus with the smiling face of Michael, our volunteer driver from the Mission to Seamen.

Friday Night "The Formal"
After a great bus trip either to the Quarantine Station or the Museum it was home for a rest before going back to the Cruising Yacht Club for the Formal Dinner. The table decorations were white roses in bowls of blue pebbles, place mats were a photo of the Vindicatrix with saucy postcards on the back. The table settings with all the glasses and cutlery looked lovely. Complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks arrived and once again the talking began.
A lovely buffet meal with several choices was served after a delicious pumpkin soup. All this was followed by sticky date pudding or fresh fruit salad.
After the meal John Taylor introduced Dave Bell on guitar and the singing commenced, with the aid of song sheets that had been provided to all. All this led by our MC John Taylor. After a bit of persuasion Chalky White sang us a song or two, followed by Tony Harben with a Johnny Cash song with Tony on guitar. Jack Edwards also had a turn at entertaining us along with Norm Harris who sang both in English and Welsh. Fred Reid was also persuaded to "give us song." What talent amongst the Vindi Boys!!
It was soon time to make our way back downstairs to our waiting bus back to the caravan park, with others going off to their accommodation. Farewells all round, the end of another Reunion Dinner.
Saturday morning there was a Memorial Service conducted by Fred Reid, followed by a sausage sizzle to end another Vindi Reunion.
